Surfio newsroom: dated company updates you can verify

TL;DR: Surfio posts an update here only when a dated change exists in its own site repository. The main 2026 update: on 13 September 2026 Surfio relaunched surfio.net as a Cantonese call answering service with published USD prices, one day after retiring its outbound sales-calling pages and old Hong Kong dollar price.

What changed for buyers on 13 September 2026?

From 13 September 2026 Surfio sells one service: answering Cantonese-speaking calls for businesses that cannot handle them. A client gets a dedicated line, then an English summary, recording, transcript, booked appointment and CRM entry after each call. The first step is a paid USD 380 pilot.

Before that date surfio.net described an outbound AI sales-calling product for Hong Kong businesses, priced monthly in Hong Kong dollars. That product and price no longer appear on the site. How the new service works is explained on the Cantonese call answering page.

Why no reason is given for the change

The 12 September commit records what was removed. It does not record why. Surfio's newsroom does not add a reason after the fact that the record does not contain.

What this newsroom will not publish

Surfio's rule for this page: no update without a date and a record behind it. That rules out the usual startup announcements until they are real and checkable.

Reporters who need facts to quote should use the press kit. Company background is on the about page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a Cantonese answering service phone number?

Surfio issues a new dedicated line for the pilot. The business publishes that number on its website, ads or listings, and its current number stays exactly as it is.

Are calls recorded and transcribed? Where is data stored?

Yes, each call comes with its recording and a transcript. Storage location and retention period are not part of the published offer; Acesley confirms both in writing before a pilot starts. See the service terms.

Is Cantonese a dying language?

Official counts do not show a simple answer. In Hong Kong the share of people aged 5 and over using Cantonese as their usual language fell from 89.5% in 2011 to 88.2% in 2021, while Australia counted more people using Cantonese at home in 2021 (295,281) than in 2016 (280,947). Details are on the statistics page.

What does the Cantonese answering service cost now?

Since the 13 September 2026 relaunch: USD 380 one-off for a 30-day pilot with up to 50 answered calls, then USD 590 per month with 300 answered minutes. There is no setup fee.
