Cantonese-English answering services compared, 2026

TL;DR: Most best bilingual answering service lists compare English and Spanish. This list only includes services whose own pages name Cantonese, with prices as published. Surfio is first because this is Surfio's page. Surfio suits teams that want each Cantonese call handed back in English; cheaper per-minute AI plans exist.

Why most bilingual answering lists assume Spanish

Search "best bilingual answering service" and nearly every list compares English and Spanish coverage.

TRTC's list describes itself as a comparison "for English/Spanish phone coverage". Appscribed compares services "on English and Spanish" call handling. Nextiva says the pair is "most commonly English and Spanish for stateside providers".

Ruby, ReceptionHQ and Abby Connect each say their bilingual service costs nothing extra. In each case the second language is Spanish.

Hours can differ by language too. TRTC reports Ruby's Spanish coverage as Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Surfio's stance: a buyer with Cantonese callers should ignore a bilingual ranking unless the list states Cantonese by name.

Each service in brief

1. Surfio

Pick it if Cantonese callers reach a team that cannot speak Cantonese, and the team wants every call returned as an English summary, recording, transcript, booking and CRM entry. Skip it if a low per-minute price matters more than the handover.

2. AllCall.ai

Its Hong Kong page publishes two plans and a 14-day trial. Pick it if WhatsApp handling or a large minute bundle matters.

3. TalkyBuddy

Hong Kong product listing conversation summaries and voice recordings. The published entry plan is HK$618 a month for 150 minutes.

4. Cenvoi

Hong Kong clinic-focused product. Its page states that medical questions are passed to a real person. The pricing mixes a monthly fee with a per-call charge.

5. GetFavours

Canadian product that lists English summaries. Cantonese sits in a paid Language Pack with its own setup fee.

6 to 10. Voksha, CallIntel, Reflekt Legal, Routiq AI, RAS AI

AI products that name Cantonese. Reflekt Legal is built for law firm intake and routes by case type. Routiq AI says it is built for Hong Kong callers. RAS AI is one of three services Google's AI Mode recommended for Cantonese-speaking callers on 14 September 2026.

11 to 14. Callnet, Always Answer, Agents Republic, Magellan Solutions

Human-staffed options. None publishes a price, so a quote is needed before any comparison.

Surfio is not right for you if

Should you choose a human service or an AI receptionist for Cantonese?

Choose on what the team needs after the call, not on the label. In the table above, none of the four human-staffed services publishes a price. Five of the nine AI services do. Whichever type you shortlist, test it with a real Cantonese enquiry before signing anything.

Google's AI Mode, asked on 14 September 2026, said live human Cantonese coverage is "remarkably difficult and expensive". That is an AI-generated answer, not a measured study.

Surfio does not state its own answering model, hours, supported CRMs, languages beyond Cantonese or compliance position on the site. Acesley confirms all of them in writing before a pilot, as set out on the service page.

How this list was built

Surfio searched Google and DuckDuckGo on 14 September 2026 for "best bilingual answering service", "chinese bilingual answering service" and "cantonese answering service".

A service was included only if its own page or Google snippet named Cantonese.

Prices were copied, not estimated. Services with no public price say so.

Surfio has not bought or tested any of these services. Check each provider's current page before deciding. The industries hub covers sector-specific alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

Do Ruby, AnswerConnect or Smith.ai offer Cantonese?

The September 2026 research did not confirm Cantonese for any of the three. Ruby's bilingual page describes Spanish. TRTC reports Ruby from $250 a month for 50 minutes and Smith.ai at $292.50 a month. Ask each provider directly.

Is there an extra charge for a second language?

Ruby, ReceptionHQ and Abby Connect include Spanish at no extra cost. GetFavours charges CAD$49 a month plus CAD$149 setup for its Language Pack. Surfio charges no setup fee, and Cantonese is the service.

What is the best bilingual answering service for Cantonese-speaking callers?

The best fit depends on what the team needs after each call. For an English summary, recording, booking and CRM entry on a dedicated line, Surfio fits. For the lowest published per-minute price, AI plans like AllCall's cost less.

How does Surfio compare with Routiq AI, Cenvoi and AllCall?

All four name Cantonese. Cenvoi and AllCall publish prices in HK$ and US$. Routiq AI publishes none. Surfio publishes USD prices for every market and lists four deliverables after each call.

What are the alternatives to hiring Cantonese-speaking staff?

The main alternatives are a phone interpreter, an outsourced call centre, an AI receptionist that lists Cantonese, or a Cantonese answering service such as Surfio. The service page compares all of them.
